Calcium Nitrate is a white granular fertilizer containing two nutrients, highly soluble in water, and whose nitrogen and calcium content can be rapidly absorbed by plants. It contains 15.5% nitrogen (N) and 26.5% calcium oxide (CaO). Of the nitrogen present in nitrate form, 14% is nitrate nitrogen (NO3 – N) and 1.5% is ammonium nitrogen (NH4 – N). The 26.5% CaO content corresponds to 19% Ca in a form that is completely soluble in water. Nitrate nitrogen and the fully water-soluble calcium composition provide numerous benefits for plants and producers.
Calcium Nitrate contains both nitrogen in its nitrate form and calcium, which are two essential nutrients for plants. It is the best choice for top dressing all plants in all soil and climate conditions. During nutrient uptake by plant roots, the uptake of nitrogen in its nitrate form facilitates calcium uptake; therefore, it helps meet the plant's calcium requirements.
